I use a simple yet highly effective strategy for community registration, and I can’t recommend it enough!
Watch this quick 9-minute video to discover exactly how it works and how you can implement it right away for instant results!
Replace Static Forms with Smart Forms
Traditional, static forms have been around forever.
You know the ones: a simple name and email address field, and a big Submit button. While they still serve a basic purpose of collecting email addresses, these forms don’t engage visitors or provide any value beyond a simple transaction.
Everyone sees the same form, regardless of their interests or needs. No follow-up questions, no deeper insights, and no real “conversation”.

Replace static forms with interactive forms
🔥 The Better Way: A Smart Opt-in Flow
Growing a successful business requires deeply understanding and actively engaging your audience.
Right after someone signs up for your product or freebie is the perfect time to gather insights - while you have their full attention. A simple, well-timed question can reveal their biggest challenges, helping you refine your approach and deliver exactly what they need. This small step can turn a casual subscriber into a highly engaged customer.
You can still have the opt-in form appear first but upon registration, ask a few simple questions that allow you to:
✅ Learn about your audience.
✅ Deliver personalized content based on their answers.
✅ Engage them immediately so they stick around.
This strategy not only enriches user interaction but also provides you with valuable insights into your audience's preferences and needs.
Here are a few simple ways to do this:
Option 1: Lead Magnet Quiz for Opt-in
Instead of a static form, use a quiz-based opt-in.
You can create a simple quiz in SQB. Configure it to display opt-in form first and then the questions. After users opt-in and answer the questions, SQB will redirect to the thank you page.
✅ Present the opt-in form first to collect basic information.
✅ After submission, guide users through a series of questions.
✅ Upon completing the quiz, redirect them to a thank you or upsell page.

This method allows you to segment your audience based on their responses, enabling more personalized follow-ups.
Here is an example of a quiz-based opt-in.
Option 2: Add a Quiz or a Poll on your Thank You Page
If you're using a static form and prefer to keep it, consider adding an interactive quiz or poll to your thank-you page.
Watch this video to see how to do this.

This simple addition not only engages your audience but also provides immediate value and helps you gather valuable insights. Even a one-question poll can reveal key audience preferences, plus people are naturally curious to see how others have voted.
You can easily add a highly engaging quiz or poll using Smart Quiz Builder and this is exactly what I do inside my own community.
Here’s how it works…
🛠 How I Use SQB for Smarter Registration
🎯 Step 1: Smart Opt-in Form
I use SQB’s simple "form" to manage my community registration.
Here is an example of how I am doing this for my community registration.

Here’s what makes it work so smoothly:
✅Seamless Email Integration
The SQB form is tied directly to my email platform, so every new signup is automatically added to my list.
✅Automatic Membership Access
The form also connects to my membership platform, granting each new registrant free access to a specific product. This process is fully automated, allowing users to dive right in without any extra steps.
✅ 1-Click Login
I send a single-click login link via my membership platform immediately after someone registers. You can also send a 1-click login link via SQB.
✅ Existing Users
If a user already has an account, they’ll see an “Already have an account? Login here!” link, which takes them straight to the login page. No duplicate profiles, no confusion.
✅Logged-In Members Skip the Form
For users who are already logged in, the registration form is completely hidden. Instead, they see a direct link to the community feed page. This prevents any interruptions in their browsing and makes the onboarding process as smooth as possible.
✅Forwarding the Visitor’s Name and Email to Your Thank-You Page
SQB sends the user’s name and email via a query string to the configured thank-you page. This lets the quiz on that page collect only the necessary information and skip the opt-in step, since the user has already opted in once.
Watch the video for a complete walkthrough, and then take the first step toward building your own smart opt-in flow.
🔄 Step 2: The Thank-You Page Strategy
Once they opt in, instead of just a "Thanks for signing up" message, I send subscribers to a thank-you page with a 1-question poll.
Here’s why this works great:
✅ It allows me to collect useful insights from new members.
✅ They get to vote and engage immediately.
✅ They see what other community members are voting for.
It’s a win-win. I learn more about my audience, and they feel instantly engaged.
Please note that I’m always experimenting with new strategies, so you may see a different quiz or poll when you opt in to my community site. However, the core idea remains the same: using an interactive approach to collect valuable insights and tailor the experience for everyone.
How to setup a one question poll
Here’s a concise step-by-step outline for setting up a one-question poll in Smart Quiz Builder (SQB):
Step 1: Create a New Quiz
1. Log into your SQB dashboard and click on “Create New Quiz.”
2. When prompted, select “Poll” as the quiz type.
Step 2: Configure options
1. Prevent Repeat Voting so each user can only vote once.
2. Allow People to See Results after they vote, so they know how others responded.
Step 3: Integrate With Your Email Platform
Connect your quiz to your email platform. This way, if you want to capture leads (e.g., name/email) before or after the poll, you can do so seamlessly.
Step 4: Add Poll Question
1. Enter the one question you want to ask.
2. Keep it short and engaging (e.g., “Which topic should we cover next in the community?”).
Step 5: Configure Instant Results
1. Set your poll to show results immediately after a vote.
2. This gives users immediate feedback and increases engagement
Step 6: Save & Publish
1. Save your settings.
2. You can place the poll shortcode or embed code on your thank-you page.
That’s it!
By following these steps, you’ll have a single-question poll in SQB that’s quick to set up, engaging for your audience, and integrated with your email platform.
Skip Re-Collecting Name/Email on the Poll
If you’re already capturing a user’s name and email on the opt-in page before sending them to the poll on your thank-you page, you can configure SQB so it doesn’t prompt for the same details again.
How to Set This Up:
- Enable Auto-Submit: In the poll settings, look for an option that allows auto-submission if name/email is already available or if the user is logged in.
- Pass Form Data: Make sure the opt-in form on the previous page passes the name and email to the thank-you page.
- Check User Login: If your members are logged in, the poll can be set to recognize them automatically and skip any duplicate fields.
This way, visitors won’t have to type their details twice, improving their experience and reducing friction in your funnel.
